Pandora rocks via Bluetooth on the Blackberry 8830

I was having trouble getting bluetooth to "stick" on Pandora...and ....

Fixed my problem and Pandora rocks on in bluetooth stereo.

This is simple and a "Piece of cake" when you know where to look and what to do. Check below my email reply from Pandora. I tried it and it works flawlessly!

Thanks for writing. Sounds like you need to enable Bluetooth in Pandora. To enable Bluetooth, go into the Station List screen, and hit the Blackberry key to pull up the menu. Select "Options" in the menu, then enable Bluetooth in the options menu (and save). Let me know how it goes. Best,Mike @ Pandora

Pick up one of these at Sears today on clearance for $5! Works great on the Blackberry 8830 in stereo!

Went back and bought the only other one they had.

Range is good. Over 10 feet in my house that's full of 2.4 GHz wifi and cordless phones.
All I ask from bluetooth is 5 feet max, so it meets that!

Quality is very good and stereo seperation seems fine. So yeah, it works!

You can use any 3.5 MM headset...which is good...the one that comes with the package is weak. OK for phone calls, but is crap for music compared to even my $9 Phillips earbuds from Target.
Nice that they send a headset though. Especially since it has a built in volume control. The tiniest volume control I've ever seen.

Paired up with my 8830 with no problems at all.

The transmitted audio from the microphone is OK. Can't say it's spectacular, but it's very acceptable from what I've seen so far.

It's the best $5 I've spent on technology since I don't know what!

It's worth the $25 I see it selling for in other places if they are even still made.

I hate normal hang-over-the ear bluetooth headsets, so this is nice for lots of options!

I like headphones with a headband, NOT stuff in my ear or hanging on my ear. So I can clip this thing on any headphones and I'm set for delicious stereo music from Pandora, Iheartradio or MP3s.

I've been pissing away too much time on Facebook and not posting anything on my blogs.

SOSDD here. (same old "stuff" different day) pretty much.

I've switched over to a new old cellphone. Since Austin dunked my HTC Mogul in the soda, I got a Sprint 8830 Blackberry from a friend to try out. It's a nice phone and very snappy. When you push a button it does what you tell it to.

Haven't been doing any ham radio things or CB radio things really.

Everybody is well here....that's a PLUS compared to the H1N1 session of earlier this winter!

Hardee's in Savage MN Pictures?

Does ANYONE have some pictures of the interior of the old Hardee's in Savage MN? I'm particularly looking for a picture of the ball pit that kids could play in.

I just can't remember anything about it and my daughter tells me there was one...which I don't doubt, but I'd like to refresh my brain!

So I made some on the George Foreman grill...which was quick and a lot less messy than a fry pan! Browned up well! Peanut butter and jelly toast was also found to be necessary.

Making little turkeys

Swedish Chili

This is called Swedish Chili because it's pretty tame in taste.
Too tame for many perhaps, but you can some crap to make it hot if that's what you want.
If you make it hot enough you can get by with rancid hamburger probably. In a lot of chili all you taste are the peppers...hmmmmmm...anyway...

Recipe by (in order of contribution to the idea):
Geo. A. Hormel
Gerald Palmquist
Brady Palmquist

Ingredients:
1-1.5 lb. hamburger
12 oz can of tomato juice or V8
can of mushrooms...big (13 oz) or small can..up to you.
Hormel Chili (25 oz) - (I use the one with beef and beans)
Chopped Celery
Mrs. Dash
Season-all
Chili Powder
Dried minced onions or fresh chopped onions
Chopped Celery


Process:

Brown the hamburger. While browning, toss in the mushrooms so they cook up a little.
While browning, I put in Season-all, Mrs. Dash and some chili powder...not a lot of any of those.
Toss in your onions and celery too.

Simmer that for a while till the hamburger is cooked and it's all cooked thoroughly.

Since we are using canned chili, this is your main cooking time. The canned chili is already cooked and only needs to be warmed up. Slowly simmer the beef, onions, mushrooms and spices so they all soak up flavor. This is quick-serve chili for the most part. No letting it cook overnight or anything like that.

Drain off excess water and fat from the beef (or not if you don't care about the calories). :)

Add in the Hormel chili and some tomato juice and warm it up to serving temp...stirring occasionally.

Add other seasoning to taste. Tonight when I made it, I had to give it extra shots of all the spices just about! It was too tame for me even. Not sure why! Maybe the chili powder is getting too old.

Serve with crackers/oyster crackers and with bread slathered with butter.

VERY delicious.

Even Austin likes it...especially the mushrooms. The kid could live on 'em.

Variations:

Try it with Turkey Chili and ground turkey! ---could be a holiday tradition!
Add more beans!

power 88

The 'HITS JUST KEEP ON COMIN'" from power 88. It's been one great song after the other while I'm posting today. It's a very lucky mix. It's actually from Rhapsody this morning. The 70's channel. Excellent...just excellent hits. I don't always get this lucky...sometimes they play some stuff I don't really care for. But it's like a custom mix today.

MPX-96

Listening to 88.1 this morning. "Power 88" is what I call it.

My little MPX96 transmitter pumping out music from the computer in the radio room.

The audio quality is better than any little box you can buy at a department or electronics store.

But you'll have to build it! And it's not for first-time builders.

There are some mods for it out on the 'net to make it sound better, but I think it sounds great as it is if you feed it with good audio of the right impedance and level.

Only wish I had an audio processor to put in front of it. Like an Optimod! I think I'd have to modify the MPX96 to take in baseband audio/stereo mix to use an Optimod though.

I had a blast building the MPX96 a few years back.

A month and a half to Christmas?

That's crazy talk. In a month or so we'll be in Rochester for the annual trek in search of fun, food, relaxation and shopping. Usually it's VERY cold and snowy that weekend. That's frightening. Hope it's warm this year. I spose I should make hotel reservations soon or we could be staying at a boarding house......I spose they still have those down there? I stayed in one once in the 70s with my grandparents I think. I remember Punky was along too.
