FileZilla client rocks for large FTPs. Windows explorer FTP is OK for an occasional small transfer, but is useless for bulk transfers.

SIP trunks- Asterisk to Future-nine

Dude...if your inbound calls from your PSTN SIP provider are hit-or-miss, might want to try adding qualify=yes to your Asterisk SIP config for the trunk. Mine are solid now. My firewall must have been closing up the NAT association. My stupid firewall is not very conifgurable, so I can't set the timeout there.

With qualify=yes, traffic is ping-ponged every 60 seconds to keep the firewall happy during idle times.

what's cool....

You know what's cool? Emailing back and forth with ham radio operator/electronics enthusiasts all over the world. I just emailed a gent in the Netherlands about a project he had done that is similar to something I want to do.

A couple years back I corresponded with a gentleman in Germany about making some radio modifications. He tested the modification in his radio and gave me the results. I did the same thing to my radio (FT897) and had great results.

Neither of them I've ever talked to on the radio, but the fraternity of ham radio allows this to happen!

Fortunately, both of them had excellent English.
